Cathedral Governance and Policies
Wellington Cathedral of St Paul, functioning as the Cathedral District Mission Unit, operates within the governance framework of Te Pouhere (the Constitution) and Code of Canons of General Synod / Te Hīnota Whānui, together with the Canons and Resolutions of the Anglican Diocese of Wellington.
Governance oversight is exercised by the Cathedral Vestry, which formulates operational policies to support christian worship, maintain Cathedral and Mission Unit property, and ensure compliance with the laws of Aotearoa New Zealand.
All clergy, staff, worshippers, volunteers, contractors, and visitors are required to abide by the canons, statutes, and policies detailed on this page.

Raising and Escalating Concerns
We are committed to maintaining a safe, transparent, and respectful environment. If you have a concern or complaint regarding Cathedral operations, facilities, or policies, please speak first with Cathedral Management or the Dean. If the issue remains unresolved, it may be escalated in writing to the Cathedral Vestry (via the Churchwardens), and subsequently to the Anglican Diocese of Wellington.
Note on Ministry Standards & Misconduct: Concerns involving safety, abuse, or breaches of conduct by clergy, vestry members, or authorized church officers fall under General Synod Title D canons. These matters should be reported directly to the Independent Ministry Standards Registrar (or the Diocesan Safeguarding Officer) in accordance with church canons.
