The Wellington buildings shown in the outline include the Wellington Cathedral of St Paul, Wellington Railway Station, Parliament (known as the Beehive because of its shape), Seabridge House, the Michael Fowler Centre, and the Westpac Trust Stadium. The memorial was designed by Roy Wilson of Warren and Mahoney Ltd, architects.
