Ambulatory windows

The pairs of windows in the back ambulatory (the passage in behind the high altar) are based round the ‘I am’ statements of Jesus – the Bread, the Way, the Vine, the Life, the Resurrection, the Lamb of God. The windows contain many symbols, which elaborate on these themes, for example the life cycle of the Monarch butterfly is seen in the Resurrection window. The windows were designed by Beverley Shore Bennett and made by Roy Miller of Miller Studios, Dunedin with the exception of the ‘I am the light’ window, which was designed by Stephen Belanger-Taylor.
