Jazz Mass

Setting: Mass in Ordinary Time Meehan and Stewart
Psalm: 34: 15-22
Motet: Agnus Dei in Te Reo; Affirmation of Faith Meehan and Stewart

On Sunday the 26th of August, the Cathedral Choir will present A Mass for Ordinary Time, a jazz-inspired collaborative setting of the Mass by Norman Meehan and Michael Stewart. This was written for the Cathedral in 2016, and will be recorded by the choir in the next couple of weeks with a view to online distribution. Norman will lead a jazz combo of drums and string bass from the piano – come and sing some favourite jazz standards such as When the Saints go Marching In and Ev’ry time I feel the Spirit.
