We are very excited that our new Regent Classic four-manual custom-built organ is on track for installation in the first week of October. To inaugurate the new instrument, we have lined up one of the biggest organ talents of his generation to play for us: Dr Joseph Nolan, Organist and Master of the Choristers of St George's Cathedral, Perth. Formerly Organist of the Chapel Royal St James' Palace, Joseph has recently recorded a critically-acclaimed series of the complete Organ Symphonies of Charles-Marie Widor which has received rave reviews in publications such as Gramophone and Choir and Organ. Joseph will perform the famous Symphonie no 5, concluding with the well-known Toccata, along with works by JS Bach, Franck and Dupré. This promises to be an electric performance by an organist described as ‘a colossus’ – make sure the date is in your diaries!

The next night, the combined choirs of Wellington Cathedral of St Paul and the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Sacred Heart will perform a blockbuster programme of mighty choral works featuring the organ, including Parry's 'I was Glad', Handel's 'Zadok the Priest', Kodaly's 'Laudes Organi', and Finzi's 'Lo, the full final sacrifice'.

The organ will be officially dedicated at our 10am service on Sunday 14 July, and our Festival will conclude with a Festal Evensong at 5pm.
